Google Pixel 8 & pixel 8 Pro &Unboxing And First Look

Introduction

We have the Google Pixel 8 & pixel 8 Pro! And I was very excited before the price! The price is here & where has the pricing gone? I don’t understand! Rs 65k for the Pixel 8 Pro & Rs 75K for the Pixel 8. And the Pixel series, the software & hardware are equally important.

Pixel 8 Series Design

If you compare the Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro, it has a glossy back & both are glass. In fact, it has Victus 2 & Victus 2 on the front & back. This is the normal glossy finish. But, the camera module is matte & the back is shiny.

Pixel 8 Series Weight

According to me, it’ll be around 190g 185.8g And this one, 200-205g. It’s more. 25-210g. So this is definitely heavy. It’s a little heavier than 25g. Both have a metal frame, but the Pixel 8 has a matte finish & the Pixel 8 Pro has a shiny finish.

To talk about ports & buttons, there’s a speaker, grill & microphone at the bottom. I can’t say because they both look the same. So there’s a speaker, grill & microphone. There’s a USB Type C port. On the right hand side, there’s a volume rocker at the bottom & power on & off at the top. If you use another phone, you know that the volume rocker is always at the top & the power button is at the bottom. On the left hand side, there’s an antenna & a noise cancelling microphone.

And on the left hand side, there’s a sim card tray at the bottom. Talking about the sim card tray, there’s no dedicated SD card slot. Let’s talk about the storage variants, which are very interesting. There’s a single nano sim card slot. There’s an eSIM, so there’s dual sim card support.

There’s an eSIM & a physical sim. I don’t understand how it’s done. The base variant is 12GB RAM & 128GB storage. They should’ve given 128GB & 256GB. They’re giving Rs 1,07,000 & 128GB is not acceptable. There are 2 variants, 8GB RAM & 128GB storage. And 8GB RAM & 256GB storage.

Google Pixel 8 & pixel 8 Pro Display

Let’s talk about the display. You get 6.2” in the Pixel 8 with FHD resolution & a peak brightness of 2000 nits. The Pro has a 6.7” 2K display with a peak brightness of 2400 nits.

Google Pixel 8 & pixel 8 Pro

Obviously it’s an OLED display, but 2400 nits is the highest brightness on a smartphone. adaptive refresh rate. It changes from 1Hz to 120Hz according to the screen you’re using. And this is an NTPO display. Let’s talk about the specifications. You get a Samsung G3 chipset, which is based on Samsung’s.

Pixel 8 Series Specifications

4nm fabrication technology. So they’re very power efficient, but it’s Samsung fabrication, remember that! And because of that, the thermals, when I talk about performance, I’m going to talk about thermals. But as I said, the variants are 12GB, 128GB & 8GB, 128GB & 8GB, 256GB. You get LPDDR5X RAM type & UFS 3.1 storage type. Interestingly, when we were testing, we got good read speeds, but we got around 200-250Mbps write speeds.

I really don’t know why that is, and that’s in the Pro. We got a little more in the 8GB variant, but we got less write speeds in the Pro variant. That’s interesting, even though it has LPDDR5X RAM type & UFS 3.1 storage type.If I talk about the battery, you get a 4575mAh battery in Pixel 8 Series Battery the Pixel 8, & a 5050mAh battery in the 8 Pro. And there’s no super fast charging!

You get 27W charging on the Pixel 8, & 30W charging on the Pixel 8 Pro. Yes, there’s wireless charging support, 18W in the small one, & 23W on the bigger one.

Pixel 8 Series OS & UI

A lot of the features, especially the camera features, are all AI based. And they work well, but they work slowly. They take time to process, but yes, there’s AI. But yes, there’s AI. The biggest thing is that Android 14 comes out of the box. But in the launch event, Google said that they’ll give 7 years of major updates. 7 years! That’s crazy! Who has used Android 21 for 7 years? Let’s talk about gaming. On paper, the AnTuTu score is above 1M. Pixel 8 Series Gaming And the performance is of a flagship level.

You’ll be able to play big games on the highest settings. But when I talk about big games, imagine you’re getting 128GB in the Pro. You download 2-3 games & your storage will end there.

I don’t understand what 128GB storage means. There’s no vapour cooling chamber, there’s only a graphite sheet. And because of that, there’s a performance throttle. We ran the CPU test & the CPU throttled by 51%.It’s really throttling quite a lot. So if you do long gaming sessions, you’ll see that the performance will drop. It has a 2K AMOLED display with beautiful colours & it’s bright.

Pixel 8 Series Multimedia

You’re going to have a lot of fun while watching videos outside. There are stereo speakers for audio. And you’ll be able to play HDR playback in videos. So that’s all there.

Pixel 8 Series Connectivity

It supports 21 5G bands. There’s Wi-Fi 6E which can be upgraded to Wi-Fi 7 as it supports Wi-Fi 7. It has Bluetooth 5.3 & NFC. It’s probably the smartphone with the best connectivity options. How are the cameras?

Pixel 8 Series Camera

3-4 years ago, when Pixel 6 & Pixel 7 were launched. The camera & portrait modes were top of the line. In Pro, you get 50MP plus 48MP plus 48MP ultra wide & telephoto. You get a triple camera setup.

In Pixel 6, you get a 50MP plus 12MP dual camera setup. The telephoto is basically a periscope lens. So you get 5X optical zoom, not in Pixel 8, only in Pro. But interestingly, like we’ve seen in other flagships, there’s no 5X portrait mode where you can take a portrait on 5X. In both, you get a 10.5MP selfie sensor. In terms of videography, you get 4K 60FPS front & back. In both, you get videography, OIS & stable footage. I’m giving you the G-Drive link. But wait for the features. The big thing is its AI features.Earlier it was a magic eraser, now it has a magic editor.

With the help of AI, it analyzes the background, portrait & landscape. If you’re shooting a video & there’s a lot of background noise. If you choose sky or portrait, different options will be automatically generated by AI.If I talk about the small features, there’s IP68 certification, wireless charging, Wide Vine L1 support, all these things are there & that’s what we expect. That’s all for this post until the next one, Keep hamaridunia.com & Stay Safe!
