When is the New Renault Duster coming? And Nissan SUV too. After watching this post you will get a clear picture. Many people are saying that the Renault Duster which is available globally. And in other markets too. Showing this and saying.
This car will come to India. But this news is not at all true. Because the new SUV which Renault and Nissan are making. Will be shared with this car. Which is none other than Mitsubishi X Force.
NISSAN CAR EXTERIOR
Now the twist is. What is the relation between these two and Mitsubishi? So all three brands are working together on the car.The exterior will be changed a bit.
But the interior will be pretty similar. As we have Kiger and Magnite. So in the same way this car, Duster and the Nisaan’s new SUV above Magnite. These all three cars will have a lot of similarity in terms of design styling and features. So what are we waiting for? Let’s start with a video of the Mitsubishi Xforce.
If you see the front you have a massive grill. And this is Mitsubishi’s design language.However if you see the headlamps. The styling is very much similar to Thor’s hammer.
And that is where the similarity ends.When we look at the side profile. The length of this car is pretty much the same as the Creta. I will not go into the numbers or the technical part of it. But just for your information. This car is the same as Creta in terms of length. Alright Let’s look at each and every element of it.
The pattern of the alloy wheels will be different. Here they have offered 18 inch wheels. I am not sure if India gets 18 inch wheels.
In my opinion they should give at least 17 inch wheels in India. The glass area will also be pretty much similar in design. Your door handles, Let’s say, the front door.
You get a passive entry. They have not offered sunroof in the Indonesian market. But they will have to offer a sunroof for the Indian market. It will become a stronger product for them. Lets move to the rear. Again this is all Mitsubishi’s design on the car.But the car which will come to India from Renault and Nissan. Their styling will be done according to them. So one will be close to the Magnite and the other will be close to Kiger in terms of styling.
But there will be no change in the boot space. Here you get an electric tailgate. Which is a miss out on. Other competition cars.
You get a decent size of boot space which is big enough. Which makes it very convenient to carry stuff. Even for the spare wheel there is a decent amount of space.Here you get a 17 inch wheel.Hopefully in India. No, here they have given a 16 inch wheel.
Sorry I’m bad. And in India you will get 17 inch wheels and the spare wheel will be 16 inches. Boot space is really good if you look at it. I am just repeating this.
So that in the new generation Duster. Or the Terrano or whatever name Nissan gives to its new SUV over Magnite. Now let’s move on to the back seat.
Just look at the rear camera. The placement of the camera is very low. Alright, Let’s get into the car.
2ND ROW
As we start from the back seat. The door opens wide enough. And as I sit inside the car. Overall there is a good amount of space inside the car. Knee room is also good. Thigh support is also not bad. If I sit comfortably. Thigh support is nice and pretty good.
Even the headroom is also decent enough. If they offer panoramic sunroof in India. Then the head room might be a little tight. As the glass area will come down just like in Vitara and Hyryder. If I sit behind my head it almost touches the roof. So that is where the differentiation happens. The armrest which you get.It completely comes down after pulling. Because of that you get a bigger armrest.
As well as cup holders too. If I put the armrest back. After that, actually three people can easily sit. The new Duster or new Terrano or whatever Nissan might call it. Here you have three adjustable headrests.And the recline of the seat is really good. The sitting position is very relaxed. The floor of the car is almost flat. You have Type-C charging points, USB charging points. And rear AC vents are made available for you.
1ST ROW
When we sit in the first row of the car. You will get to see a lot of similarities.With Renault and Nissan. There will be a lot of similarities.In terms of styling.
Here you get Fabric. But I hope in India they give us leatherette or leather. So that it will be a soft touch element. The top portion of the dashboard is hard plastic,
The material quality is good but doesn’t feel premium. With this you get a big screen. Which connects to a smaller instrument cluster. If I talk about the screen.
Its display quality is good. There is no issue in using it, Brightness is also good. The response is also decent enough. The instrument cluster is also pretty nice and easy to operate. We did not face any problem in using it.
It is not very difficult to operate it also. So this steering wheel design is of Mitsubishi. Styling has to be theirs. But if Nissan and Renault are working on it then.
On the left you get your audio controls. On the right you get your cruise control. So that’s what you get on the steering wheel. Your AC controls are here in the centre.And it’s like normal climate controls. Underneath you get your wireless charging pad.
Above that you have your Type-C, USB and 12 V socket is made available to you. Here you have your Automatic transmission. I will soon cover the engine options. Your all four drive modes can be controlled from here it self. The engine start/stop button is also placed here itself.
Even the electronic parking brake with auto hold is also available.
You get two cup holders in the centre. Underneath the arm rest you get storage. Which by the way gets a cooling function. On the door you get hard door elements of plastic. Just below that you get Yamaha speakers. I think there’s a tie up between Yamaha and Mitsubishi. Not a tie up between Renault and Nissan.
That is why you get to see these speakers here. On the door pads you have a bottle holder. Which has enough space to keep a big bottle.The glove box is small and not that big. Has enough space.
Talking about the seats. The quality is decent. Like I said it is not that premium. Seat support seems to be good.We will get to know each other once we experience it. But in my opinion. There would be a lack of comfort, Again it will be too early to say this right now.
ENGINE
Coming to the engine part. Here they have a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated engine. In India they should offer manual and CVT transmissions. This is one engine option. Which was in the duster,
And in my opinion 1.3 turbo petrol which was on the Duster and on the Kicks. They should introduce it in this car as well. So that it can become a performance oriented option to choose from. Guys this was our post on these two upcoming SUVs in India.
VERDICT
As of now not many people know about it. It is made on the CMFB platform. Which will actually be used on Duster and Terrano. Or whatever name Nissan gives it. Will be shared with it.
And that is the reason you will get to see similar interiors. When will the Duster and the new SUV from Nissan launch? We are expecting it to be there by mid 2024 in the Indian market. So by mid 2024 you can expect the launch. You don’t have any cars in this category from these two brands.
